Should churches use juice or wine for communion?

There are many reasons for a church to abstain from alcoholic drinks and tempting anyone struggling with alcoholism. It is dangerous.

The other side of the coin is that Jesus made and drank wine in the Scriptures.

Is this an interpretation thing, or does it morph into postmodern thought. Your thoughts?

What does your church do to connect with visitors?

Recently, I visited a local church that was very friendly and well-meaning about their wanting to connect with visitors. However, the approach was a bit awkward..

My family was obviously new to the church and fairly nervous about the dreaded visitor spotlight. You know, the spotlight that seems to follow every visitor at every church. There was a moment that seemed like eternity; it was the moment that visitors were singled out by the raising of hands…

Is there an effective way to “get-to-know” visitors without that awkward moment? How does your church do it?
